VISITATION SCHEDULE AND RULES
Effective August 1, 2006

**NOTICE TO ALL VISITORS OF INMATES IN THE LUCAS COUNTY CORRECTION CENTER**

Starting August 1, 2006 the Lucas County Correction Center will offer non-contact video visitation for all inmates and their visitors. The last day of contact visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2006. Read the following information to schedule your visit.

HOW TO VISIT:
  1. You must be listed on an inmate’s approved visitor list before you can schedule a visit.
  2. All visits with inmates are by appointment only on a first come-first served basis. NO WALK-INS WILL BE ALLOWED. Anyone requesting a visit with an inmate must call 419-213-4863 to sign up for the visit no sooner than six (6) days and no later than one (1) day before the visit to schedule it. (Since there are no visits on Sunday and Monday, if you want to visit on Tuesday you have to sign up for the visit by Saturday.) If you get voicemail, you must leave your name, name of inmate, proper spelling of both names, your date of birth, social security number, a phone number where you can be reached, and the time and day you want to visit. The visitation counselor will call you to confirm your visit within twenty-four (24) hours, except Sunday & Monday. If the visitor speaks to a live person on the phone, no confirmation call will be made.
  3. A complete warrant check will be done on each visitor. Visitors with active warrants will not be allowed to visit.
  4. You must arrive in the front lobby of the Corrections Center ten minutes before your scheduled visit and show photo identification before being allowed to visit.
WHEN TO VISIT:
Inmates are allowed one thirty-minute (30) visit per week, Tuesday through Saturday. The schedule is as follows:

12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
12:40 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.
1:20 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
2:40 p.m. - 3:10 p.m.

Additional Sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays Only:

6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
6:40 p.m. - 7:10 p.m.
7:20 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
8:40 p.m. - 9:10 p.m.

WHO MAY VISIT:

One adult may visit an inmate at one time. However, two adults may visit an inmate if they are the inmate’s parents or grandparents. Children aged 17 or under may visit an inmate if accompanied by their parent or legal custodian/guardian. No more than two people may visit an inmate at one time under any circumstances.

VISITING RULES:

Jail staff will end your visit and may deny you future visits if you violate any of these visitor rules:
  1. Check in with visitation counselor and show an official, acceptable picture ID. Adults visiting with a child must present a birth certificate or proper photo identification for the child.
  2. Abide by dress standards and requirements.
  3. Behave in a manner that is not a threat to the safety, security, and order of the Correction Center.
  4. Do not leave children unattended in the lobby or on the front steps at any time. Do not leave your child(ren) alone or with a stranger or anyone younger than eighteen (18). Jail staff will not care for your child(ren). Children aged 12 or younger must be supervised at all times. They are not to be left in a vehicle without adult supervision. Disobedient children and their parent/guardian will be asked to leave.
  5. Anyone who is under the visible influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to visit.
  6. Follow all directions of visitation officers and jail staff at all times.
  7. Do not tamper with, damage, mark, or soil the visitation cameras, monitors, or handsets or any jail property. Violators of this rule may be subject to arrest and/or prosecution.
  8. Do not attempt to bring contraband in to the building or visiting area. If you do, you are subject to arrest and/or prosecution. (Contraband is anything jail staff has not authorized or issued, such as weapons, drugs, tobacco, lighters, food, papers, sharp objects.)
  9. A visitor may only visit with one inmate at a time. No cross visiting is allowed.
  10. No smoking, food, or beverages are allowed in the visitation area.
DRESS STANDARDS

Because the jail houses a wide variety of personalities, jail staff will deny a visit if sexually suggestive or inappropriate clothing is worn. Clothing may be considered sexually suggestive if it exposes an undue amount of skin on the back, chest, thighs, shoulders, or midsection. This includes short shorts, skirts, and dresses; dresses or skirts with high slits, tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, or other clothing with plunging or low-cut necklines. Tight-fitting or see-through clothing or sheer and loose-weave fabrics may be considered sexually suggestive. The absence of undergarments may be considered as sexually suggestive.

Shoes must be worn at all times. No clothing or insignias with language, symbols, or markings that indicate a criminal gang may be worn. No clothing that contains derogatory comments or slurs directed at a class of people or that may otherwise disrupt jail order or place a person’s safety at risk may be worn.
